Unemployed Teachers

Teachers that would like to be skilled to become facilitators, moderators and assessors, or be employed at the Tech Hub or GCU Academy of Sciences, will require upskilling with STEM skills programmes before applying for a post.

Incubation Partnerships

Strong collaborative hackathon partnerships, skills, events and collaborations.

The first previously announced hackathon expo in Rustenburg was postponed until the Tech Hub opens in 2026.

Youth in Rustenburg are encouraged to prepare for empowering programs and services to be offered at the Rustenburg Africa Tech Hub. Tip: We encourage our youth to think outside the box, for instance, about what they think are practical solutions to unemployment in Rustenburg.

Connecting Seniors to Technology

The seniors tech skilling is in response to enquiries from various stakeholders in Rustenburg.

Our Digital Literacy Programme for Seniors will

enable older people to keep up with technology, increase their trust and confidence of carrying out online activities, staying connected with loved ones, and improving digital inclusion.

ADDRESSING UNEQUAL EDUCATION AND SKILLS IN RSA

GCU Academy of Sciences, through its Tech Hub, will also provide Foundational digital, English and Maths literacy skills training to youth from marginalised communities to enable them to learn more advanced courses online.

Feedback by struggling learners indicates that a large influx of South African Black youth leaving school, lack technology resources such as computers, data or access to wi-fi, their home environment is not conducive to study, they  do not have money to go and attend the schools that could avail affordable technology skills.

This is where GCUASc provides a solution through its planned TECH HUB.
